Susan Rail is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been working in the field for 20 years. She received her undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Maryland, College Park, and her Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland at Baltimore.
Ms. Rail has extensive experience and expertise working with children, adolescents and their families in a variety of settings. She has worked in psychiatric inpatient, psychiatric day treatment, therapeutic foster care and school settings. For four years, she was the Clinical Director of Oakmont School, a therapeutic school for middle school and high school kids with emotional difficulties. She has been successful in helping parents navigate the special education system in order to get their children's social, emotional, and academic needs met.
Ms. Rail has provided individual, group, and family therapy throughout her professional career. She has experience with issues related to depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, school problems, behavioral problems, social skills deficits, family problems, and attachment issues related to adoption and/or abuse/neglect backgrounds. In addition to helping kids be more successful in their lives, she believes in giving support and guidance to the parents, as well, to empower them and strengthen their parenting skills in order to be more effective and successful with their children.
At the Expressive Therapy Center, she continues to work with children of all ages and provides individual, group, and family therapy, as well as parenting guidance and support.
