Dorothy Doyle, LCMFT
Dorothy Doyle is a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist. She has a masters degree in marriage and family therapy from Fairfield University. She takes a family systems approach in her work with children, adolescents, and adults. Additionally, she has a Masters Degree in Theater Education from Emerson College where she focused on "Curricular Drama" (drama that reinforces classroom learning and strengthens interpersonal communication skills) and engaging youth through a "Multiple intelligences" perspective.
As a therapist, Ms. Doyle brings a unique background of dramatic, educational, and therapy training to her work. She has led a wide variety of youth programs for students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Ms. Doyle is a Certified PEERS instructor (an emotional literacy program for youth which enables children and adolescents to gain a better understanding of themselves and a deeper appreciation for the experiences of their families and peer group).
In Ms. Doyle's work with couples, she helps them capitalize on the hope that exists between them and to achieve realistic goals. She also works with families going through divorce and separation and helps facilitate the adjustment from spouse to "co-parent." Ms. Doyle is a strong believer in the importance of family involvement in the therapeutic process. She works with all ages at the Expressive Therapy Center providing individual, couples and family therapy.
