Expressive Therapy Center is a thriving multidisciplinary counseling center

that provides a broad array of services for children, adolescents and adults living in the Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia areas

We understand that there are many things in life that influence us and take a toll on our emotional well-being. We believe that with effective support, guidance and understanding, people have the ability to not only find the answers to their problems, but the strength to make positive changes in their lives.

Expressive Therapy Center offers a family-focused and individualized approach that is unique to each client and his or her family's needs. We consider the relationship between our therapists and our clients to be of the utmost importance in providing successful therapy and we strive to match our clients to the therapist who will best suit them. Our therapists come from from a variety of backgrounds, bringing their own distinctive experiences, strengths and specialities and utilizing a range of therapies, including art, play, movement and traditional talk therapy.

We prioritize the initial discovery phase to ensure that we meet your needs. You can expect to speak with our Clinical Director, Stephanie Natter, M.A., LCPAT, CGP, or Assistant Clinical Director, David Drowos, Psy.D., who will take the time to gain a full understanding of the challenges facing you or your family before you commit your time and resources. You will then be carefully assigned to a therapist whose clinical background matches your therapeutic needs. An initial assessment will take place with your clinician.

During that meeting, your therapist will gather additional background information relevant history, and get to know you and/or your family member. We will then move forward to collaboratively develop an individualized treatment plan that works for you. We are a consortium of psychologists, social workers, counselors, and expressive therapists. In some cases, you and/or your family member may work with more than one clinician to address various concerns

I had a great experience at Expressive Therapy Center.  I am a recent divorcee, and I was looking for some help for me and my kids.  Luckily, I found help for all of us in one place!

Rebecca M.

Wonderful help and support. Tangible ways to help in our situation. You have provided us with a wonderful counselor for Thomas (and myself). (Clinician) has and continues to be someone that has greatly helped us during this difficult time. Thank you!

Jonathan J., parent

The idea of therapy was uncomfortable for my husband,  but (Clinician) made it work for him.  It was a safe place to be heard. We were very happy with (Clinician) and Expressive Therapy Center!
